HIRE TERM
Weekly means seven days inclusive. One day hire means 24 hours. Weekend means collect Friday, return Monday.Unless different arrangements have been made, we ask that equipment collections are made in the afternoon, and returns are made in the morning.
MISSING / DAMAGED EQUIPMENT
We like to keep all our equipment in a clean, safe condition. The Customer is responsible for returning equipment in the condition it was received. Missing equipment will be charged to the customer at full replacement cost. Damaged or dirty equipment will be charged to the customer for either the cost of returning the equipment to working condition, or to replace, at our discretion. Any breakdown or unsatisfactory working should be notified to Event Light & Sound as soon as possible.
INSURANCE
The Customer is responsible for the insurance of goods on hire, and is liable for any damage or theft. We can suggest a suitable broker if required.
CABLES
All cables are supplied coiled & Velcro strapped. A charge of £ 1 per cable will be made for cables not returned in this condition. Missing straps will be charged for. Parcel or Sellotape type products must not be used to secure cables, as they leave a nasty, sticky residue on the cables, which we then charge you to remove. We hold proper gaffa tape in a variety of colours in our sales stock. And please, don’t coil cables round your arm ! While it might be acceptable practice for the lead on your lawnmower, it ruins lighting and sound cables. If you don’t know the correct way to coil cables, just ask, and we will give you a quick demo. Cables lengths are denoted by colour coded bands at the plug end.

COLOUR FILTER
Colour filters should be viewed as a consumable item. Luminaries are not supplied with colour filters. We hold the 30 most popular Lee colours in our sales stock. The other 300 or so colours are available at short notice.
INSTRUCTIONS
Instructions can be supplied with hire equipment if required. If you are uncertain about an item of equipment, please contact us for advice.
MAINS CONNECTORS
All our equipment is fitted with either IEC, Cee Form, or 13 amp connectors, as appropriate. Adaptors to most formats are available. Customers must not remove plugs or sockets from our equipment.
DELIVERY & COLLECTION
Goods may be collected from our Ossett premises, subject to prior notice. Most of our equipment is flightcased to prevent damage, and must not be removed from these cases while in transit. For the record, if you drop flightcased equipment out the back of a truck, or downstairs, it will probably still break ! Damage to equipment that is flightcased is still the sole responsibility of the hirer. Damage to flightcases themselves will also incur charges. Please make sure that your vehicle is of sufficient size for the equipment you are collecting. If required, we can deliver and collect equipment for you. By the way, delivery and collection means exactly that. If you need the equipment assembling and/or derigging, we can do that for you, but we have to charge for our technicians time. Please let us know in advance if you require this service.
QUOTES
All quotes are valid for 28 days, and are based on the information you provide us with. If your venue is on the 4th floor, and there is no lift, now would be a good time to mention it ! We issue a lot of quotes. The issuing of a quote does not mean the equipment is reserved for you. If you wish to confirm an order, the sooner the better is the key. That way we can make sure the equipment is reserved for you.
ORDERING
All orders must be confirmed in writing. Email is OK. Fax is so last century ! Let us know who you are, how we can contact you, what you want, where you want it, and when.
PAYMENT (NON ACCOUNT CUSTOMERS)
Equipment must be paid for in cleared funds before it leaves our premises. Please allow five working days for cheques to clear. We can supply our bank details by request, should you wish to pay by BAX. A deposit may be required for certain items.
PAYMENT (ACCOUNT HOLDERS)
As per the terms of payment for your account. Please enquire if you wish to open an account with us.
PROOF OF I.D.
Two forms of I.D. must be provided when collecting equipment. One must be either a British passport or driving licence, the other must show a verifiable U.K. address. Hirers must be over 18 years of age.
HEALTH & SAFETY
All electrical items are tested and maintained in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
All lifting equipment is tested and maintained in accordance with the Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998.
SPARE LAMPS
Spare lamps can be supplied if required. Blown lamps must be returned to us for inspection, or they will be charged for.
VAT
All prices quoted are ex vat.
TERMS OF BUSINESS
All transactions are subject to our terms of business. A copy is also included with all transactions. It is also available on this site.
